Defining the rooms with alternating deck patterns and colours would not be enough to create the desired “cosy” effect on a project this large, so I defined each area with an aerial structure extending in from the deck edge. This would create an outside border to the entire design that would bring an intimate feel to the deck within the massive rural yard, yet still allow for open views. I also sunk the pool level into the centre of the design with overhanging pergolas which added to the sense of privacy.
