The Proposed Solution? I decided that the best plan of action was to design the deck around a pool as a focal point, and then add clearly defined “rooms” surrounding the pool…

The Dilemma? A gorgeous property with a newly renovated house, but a deck that looked like it had just gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson in his prime. Just tear it down and build a new one you say? Nope! The jurisdictional rules had changed and a new project would not have been allowed.

The Proposed Solution? A full makeover! Remove the old deck boards and re-surface with new ultra-low maintenance composite decking, while leaving the existing structure intact. I only beefed up the structure to bring it way above present code requirements. Next step, beautification!
